Painting #3 - We All Care
30" x 48"

In the heart of the pandemic, I embarked on a journey to encapsulate the shared human experience of masked existence through the medium of oil on canvas. The meticulous process began with collecting photographs from individuals scattered across the spectrum of my life, each bearing the universal symbol of our times—the face mask. Deliberately focusing on the eyes, I sought to capture the profound narratives etched within those expressive windows to the soul. The eyes, now unburdened by the obscurity of masks, emerged as the paramount vessels of connection and communication.

Every brushstroke danced upon the canvas with a purpose, weaving together the diverse faces of strangers and loved ones alike. Through the amalgamation of these disparate visages, a collective portrait of resilience and unity emerged, transcending the physical barriers imposed by the pandemic. Viewers find themselves inexplicably drawn into the gaze of these individuals, their own eyes becoming mirrors reflecting the shared emotions and experiences embedded within the layers of pigment. The backdrop, an ethereal expanse that stretches beyond the confines of the frame, engulfs the observer, fostering a profound sense of belonging—a reminder that, despite our isolation, we are interconnected threads in the vast tapestry of human existence. The space, both literal and metaphorical, invites us to transcend the limitations of the present and envision a future where the unspoken language of our eyes prevails over the masks that once concealed our smiles.
